When can I have my first pregnancy scan?
Our Early Viability Scan is available from 7 weeks of pregnancy. This scan allows you to see your baby, confirm the pregnancy is developing in the uterus, and provides reassurance during the early weeks.
Are your scans diagnostic?
No. Our scans are non-diagnostic bonding and reassurance scans and do not replace your NHS maternity care or routine hospital scans. If we identify anything that requires further assessment, we will advise you to contact your NHS healthcare provider.
Can I bring family and friends?
Yes. We understand that seeing your baby is a special moment and welcome partners, children, family members and friends to share your experience, provided this is within the clinic's capacity.
How accurate are gender scans?
Our gender scans are available from 14 weeks of pregnancy and are highly accurate when your baby's position allows us to obtain a clear view. Occasionally, if your baby is not in an ideal position, we may recommend another appointment.
What is the best time for a 3D/4D or HD Live scan?
The ideal time is usually between 26 and 32 weeks, when your baby has developed facial features but still has enough room to move, giving the best possible images.
What should I do before my scan?
We recommend staying well hydrated in the days leading up to your appointment, as this may help improve image quality. For later pregnancy scans, eating a light snack around 20–30 minutes before your appointment may encourage your baby to be more active.
How long does my appointment take?
Appointment times vary depending on the scan you have booked. Most appointments last between 10 and 30 minutes, giving you plenty of time to enjoy seeing your baby.
Will I receive photos of my baby?
Yes. Depending on the package you choose, you'll receive printed keepsake images, and selected packages may also include digital images or video recordings.
What happens if my baby isn't in the right position?
Babies don't always cooperate! We may ask you to walk around, change position, or have a drink to encourage movement. If we still cannot obtain suitable images, we will discuss the best options with you.
Can I have a scan if I'm expecting twins?
Yes. We offer dedicated twin pregnancy scans, allowing you to see both babies together and create wonderful memories throughout your pregnancy.
Are your sonographers qualified?
Absolutely. Our scans are performed by experienced professionals registered with organisations including the HCPC, NMC, and the Society of Radiographers, ensuring you receive high-quality care throughout your visit.
Is parking available?
Yes. Free parking is available just a short walk from our clinic, and we're also conveniently located close to Scunthorpe bus and train stations.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
We ask that you provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or rearrange your appointment. This allows us to offer the appointment to another family.
